Researchers who wrote the article 'Assessment of the Possible Impacts of Collagen Biostimulators on Surgical Facelift' polled over 60 facial surgeons. Over 80% of surgeons stated that previous use of biostimulators increased complication rates, including postoperative skin irregularities and prolonged inflammation. Collagen biostimulators and energy based devices applied to delay the need for facelift surgery may actually increase intraoperative difficulty and complications when a facelift is finally performed (Avelar et al., 2026).
