What you see on social media is NOT the typical experience for recovering from surgery. Before and afters on social media are often in a different pose, in different lighting and without makeup vs. with makeup. Influencers have often been preparing for months to optimize their health before surgery and benefitting from postop protocols including hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage. They may not share their doubts and misgivings for fear of harsh judgement and criticism from strangers on the internet.

Having my own facial plastic surgery in 2021 has helped me to connect more deeply with my clients who are healing from facelift and necklift. I have experienced firsthand the fear, optimism, pain, doubt, frustration, embarrassment and gratitude that come with the facelift journey. I can set their minds at ease that yes, the swelling does go down, the numbness goes away and they will go back to looking and feeling like their best selves again. I wrote the Facelift Recovery Handbook (available on Amazon) to provide my clients with resources they need to do everything they can to recover successfully from their facial rejuvenation surgery and enjoy ongoing health and wellness long after scars have faded.
