A Turkish surgeon recommends "routine massage on the temporal region from the midface to prevent lower lid retraction" after lower blepharoplasty. The surgeons describes retraction as "scar pulling on the incision area" and states that mild retraction can resolve after a few months with massage.
The surgeon concludes that "correction surgery was not required, thanks to the massage method."
