Baylor University published a study on massage therapy use and found that over 30 million adults visit a massage therapist at least once a year. More people utilize massage therapy to restore health than to control pain. Most people recieving massage are female, socioeconomically advantaged, in excellent health and are seeking massage as part of a "wellness-seeking lifestyle." These massage clients are also using acupuncture, naturopathy, yoga and mindfulness practices.
